What Is Intervention Research and How Does It Work?

The systematic examination of purposeful change tactics is known as intervention research. It is distinguished by both the design and implementation of interventions.

STEP1

Develop a program theory of malleable mediators

Develop a problem theory of risk, promotive, and protective factors

•Determine the level of intervention, the environment, and the agent (s)

Develop a change theory and a logic model

STEP2

•Write a first draft and send it to an expert for critique.

•Define the fundamental parts of the program as well as the fidelity standards.

•Measures and a pilot program (i.e., outcome and fidelity measures)

•Include training and implementation in the content.

STEP3

•Maintain a high level of control and intervention testing.

Develop guidelines for adaptation based on moderation and mediation tests, community values and requirements, and other issues

•Estimate effect sizes and test for moderation and mediation

STEP4

•Experiment with the intervention on a large scale in numerous locations.

•Estimate the impact of ITT

•Estimate the effects on subsets of efficacy

STEP5

•Make your findings public.

•Distribute program materials

Develop training materials and certificate

group per se. During this step, practice principles
